What does a professional mould treatment actually include?

More than a spray and wipe

The difference between a lasting fix and a temporary one is process. A professional treatment addresses the whole problem — cause, contamination and prevention — rather than just the visible surface, which is why it works when DIY keeps failing.

Step 1 — Inspect and measure

It starts with an mould inspection: measuring moisture levels, finding the source (condensation, rising or penetrating damp, or a leak) and mapping how far the mould extends, including hidden growth.

Step 2 — Address the source

Because mould always comes back if the moisture remains, the source is dealt with — improving ventilation, fixing a leak, or treating rising damp with a damp-proof course. This is the step DIY almost always skips.

Step 3 — Remove and treat

Step 4 — Restore and protect
